Become a Nanny

As a Nanny, you will care for children within the family home.  We will match you with a family (at no cost to you or the family), who will be your employer.

An Au Pair is a Nanny who 'lives-in' with a family and looks after their children. Au Pairs often pay board or lodging, which is generally deducted from their pay.

If you choose to become a PORSE Nanny or Au Pair, we'll support you to find employment, and with the option of PORSE Payroll, will administer your wages, PAYE, holiday pay, ACC, KiwiSaver employee and other employer contributions.

About PORSE

PORSE is natural childcare. We stand for authenticity. Authentic relationships, environments and experiences. We love nothing more than seeing children flourish, knowing that we are helping them make positive connections for later in life.

We’re the largest and oldest in-home childcare provider in NZ. We started 25 years ago and now we operate nationwide from Kaitaia to Invercargill. Our Head Office is based in Havelock North, Hawke’s Bay with 19 offices across the country to support you at a more local level. Employing over 150 staff, you’ll be supported by a large team, including a marketing department.

Whether you choose to be an educator, a nanny, or an au pair, you will be fully supported to deliver the PORSE programme within the national ECE curriculum, Te Whāriki, with monthly visits from a trained early childhood teacher.

Nanny Intern Programme

PORSE also offers a Nanny Intern Programme to those interested in early childhood education, who are looking for ‘hands-on’ training. This 20-week course is available to people aged 17-25 years, with course fees covered by your training family.  Next semester begins July 2019. Learn more about the Nanny Intern Programme here.

Ongoing Education

With PORSE, you will have access to ongoing personal development, from short courses and workshops through For Life, through to the New Zealand Certificate in Early Childhood Education & Care (Level 4).

Your programme tutor will support you to become a PORSE Professional through our certification programme.
