After returning to her demanding job as a midwife in Wellington, Rhonda needed flexible childcare for Jethro (three) and Frankie (five). Finding an au pair was the perfect solution for the mother of two.
"I work irregular hours, so I needed someone who could live with us and be there for the children when I race off at short notice.
“Justine is now part of our family - when I head out the door to work the kids just say ‘see you mum’. Having an au pair gives me peace of mind and makes life less stressful.”
Rhonda sought the help of Au Pair Link and was impressed by the way they worked with her to find the right fit for her children.
“Using an agency removed the hassle, simplifying the entire process. They were super helpful and great at sorting out the detail,” says Rhonda.
Au Pair Link has recently partnered with PORSE to bring more au pairs to Kiwi households and provide families with more choice.
PORSE General Manager Kerry Henderson says the relationship opens up access to au pairs and gives families another option.
“It’s another way we can make life less stressful for parents. We are very excited about being able to offer families more choice in the home-based childcare sector.”
The partnership enables au pair matching services to reach key centres throughout New Zealand including Whangarei, Hawke’s Bay, Southland, Nelson and Marlborough.
Au Pair Link General Manager Casey Muraahi says the partnership with PORSE enables them to support more families, due to the size of the PORSE network.
“We can now reach out to families nationwide and in some of the more remote areas. We receive regular enquiries from families outside our licensed areas so we are now able to meet these demands.”
Kerry says it gives au pairs even more networking opportunities and access to extra resources as well as training with PORSE.
“The au pairs can enjoy the PORSE services such as playgroups, events and professional development.
“We take care of the paperwork and programme support for the children outside of Au Pair Link’s licensed regions and Au Pair Link will continue to interview, screen and match the candidates to ensure they will be the right fit for families.”
