Kia ora and happy new year!
Hopefully, you’re well-rested after a relaxing and enjoyable summer break.
We are very excited to announce the launch of an exciting new campaign – the 2018 PORSE Mum-friendly Workplace award - championing mums and the workplaces that support them.
At PORSE, we recognise the importance of finding the right care for children and believe that when parents are supported with childcare arrangements they are happier and more productive. Research shows that having young babies and children in low-ratio, home-based care environments is less stressful and results in less illness. PORSE offers a Natural Childcare solution to parents, which provides them with the next best option to being at home with their children.
From 11 January, we will be promoting the initial stage of our award campaign (which is to undertake a Facebook-based national survey to gain information around mum’s experiences of returning to, and being in, the workforce), through our many social media channels. We’re hoping you will help us spread the word by sharing the link to the survey throughout your own networks (and of course by completing it yourself if you’re a mum). Plus, everyone who participates can put themselves in the draw to win a $100 Kmart voucher! We would also love if you could share our social media posts as they appear, through your social media and other platforms, to help spread the word.
From here, we’ll review the findings and provide businesses with information about what mums look for, and will open nominations for the 2018 PORSE Mum-friendly Workplace award. There will be one overall winner, with ten runner-up businesses. The awards will be finalised in March 2018.
As New Zealand’s largest and longest-serving home-based Early Childhood Education provider, with over 23 years of experience, PORSE has strong social and online presence with over 13,500 Facebook likes and a database of over 5,000 contacts.
We believe that mums should be supported, celebrated and given the opportunities they need to be great employers, employees and mums. This is a chance to reward the businesses that do this well. Please help us spread the word! If you can think of any other organisations that would be interested in being part of this campaign or would like to find out more about how we can support your staff with subsidies as part of our PORSE Partnership Programme please contact Tracey Chatterton.
Thank you for your support in sharing this campaign and helping us raise awareness around supporting mums in the workplace.
