Working Mum Can Give Up Housework for a Year

Media Release 26 April 2016

Working Mum Grace Barnett can give up housework for a whole year, thanks to leading in home childcare provider PORSE.

The Wellington mum recently received a phone call from the childcare provider, informing her she had won $5,000 of home help.

She was told the money could be put toward anything from cleaning and gardening to home renovations.

PORSE General Manager, Kerry Henderson says PORSE wanted to run a promotion which would give parents more time to spend with their children.

“We lead such busy lives these days. Quality time with our children is precious, so this promotion was a way we could make time for parents and help take the pressure off at home.”

“PORSE is about nurturing children during the most vital years of play, learning and development – giving  families the opportunity to spend time together is very important.”

Mrs Barnett automatically entered the prize draw when she enrolled Abigail with Johnsonville based PORSE Educator Emma Palimidaf two months ago.

The promotion applied to parents who signed up between  1January  and 31 March, but she had forgotten all about it, until the exciting news recently arrived.

“I was just over the moon getting the call, it’s a huge prize and we could not be happier,” Mrs Barnett said.

“It’s not every day you win something like this and we really want to spend it wisely.”

Mrs Barnett hadn’t decided how she would spend the prize money, but was already getting quotes for gardening, cleaning and home improvements.

Mrs Henderson said it was great to be able to give families more time to focus on what’s important in life.

“There are often a lot of extra jobs around the house for busy working parents, so we wanted to give them a chance to forget about the housework or weeding the garden and just spend quality time with their children.”
