Our Admission Requirements
Anyone who touches the heart or mind of a child, and who:
- Works (paid or unpaid) for a minimum of 15 hours per week with at least one child under the age of five years in a home or childcare setting
- Can commit to 19 weeks of self paced learning and complete all assessment activities
- Is a citizen or permanent resident of New Zealand or Australia, residing in New Zealand
- Is over the age of 16 and has left school.
PORSE ECE Training (NZ) Ltd reserves the right to restrict entry or terminate an enrolment on the following grounds:
- The applicant is not of good character
- The applicant has been guilty of misconduct or a breach of discipline
- The applicant is enrolled for full-time instruction in another institution
- The applicant does not have the capacity to work independently
- The applicant does not have the ability to interact safely with young children
- PORSE ECE Training has exceeded the numbers of students it is limited to offer distance training to each year under student component funding.
Applicants who have been refused entry or whose enrolment has been cancelled have the right to complain or appeal to PORSE ECE Training (NZ) Ltd, Attention: National Training Co-ordinator.
Course Costs
Fees need to be paid in full within 10 days of receiving confirmation of your enrolment from our Training Administrator based in Hawke's Bay.
Application Fee $25
This is to be included with your enrolment forms and is non-refundable.
Course Fees $295
Fees cover all tuition costs, Programme Learning Guides, textbooks and course administration.
Please note that after the first 10 working days of the start of your 19 week Programme fees are non-refundable.
You may be eligible for a Training Incentive Allowance, Student Loan or Allowance.
